Comic 062 - Aerial Date with Birdbrain

The final panel is a tribute to a pet peeve of mine - superhero writers get to ignore basic physics. Equal and opposite reactions and conservation of momentum play havoc with equilibrium in mid-air

READER'S COMMENT SECTION

Ah yes, the Date from Heck with the brother or personal friend of a friend who is nothing at all like his admirable sibling. And while a kiss might be appropriate at the end of a first date [if the datee really likes the dater] a sloppy french kiss in the beginning of the date implies that the kisser is more interested in being a friend-with-benefits than a matrimonial prospect. Robert Stradley, the Weekend Artist.

Mid-air encounters are both under-analyzed and overrated. Flight takes energy. To properly understand the problems, imagine two people tryng to kiss while both of you are doing pullups on side by side setups at the gym. - Robert

The final panel is a tribute to a pet peeve of mine - superhero writers get to ignore basic physics. Equal and opposite reactions and conservation of momentum play havoc with equilibrium in mid-air. To understand what Magniloquence is going thru, sit in wheeled desk chair and push off the desk with your left fist. Translation and Rotation ensue. Then think about how much force is applied during a superheroine fist strike that causes the other person to take off like a rocket. With those wings and back muscles, he probably has more mass than she does, so she is going to move and spin that much faster. - Robert
